Samsung to start it’s Own Display Manufacturing Plant In India

Not too long ago, Samsung became the market leader when it came to smartphone sales in India, a feat surpassed by current market toppers, Xiaomi. The Korean giants definitely have a carefully chalked-out plan to win back their pride, part of which is establishing a display manufacturing unit for which the company has invested $500 million, as per regulatory filings.

The new factory will be located in Noida, which is also home to Samsung’s phone factory which the company inaugurated back in July 2018, according to TechCrunch and The Economic Times reports.

The plant is set to be worth $500 million and will be located in Noida-near the world’s largest smartphone manufacturing facility. The display facility will start with only smartphone displays with all the accompanying accessories and components and later join the TV and laptop segment.

The plant must first ramp up production and start meeting third-party manufacturers ‘ demands to branch out. But first, Samsung plans to hit 120 million generated units in the country and the new facility will definitely help speed up the process.
