Just today or I guess yesterday, Samsung, as sneaky as possible, launched their rugged smartphone, the Galaxy XCover Pro. It is a successor to the popular rugged smartphone in 2017 – Galaxy XCover 4.
The new XCover Pro features a modern-era design, with a larger 6.3-inch Display, which is an LCD panel. This display has a 20:9 aspect ratio and comes with a punch-hole selfie camera. However, the inside has a bit of a disappointing story.
At the price of $556, you will surely get a hardened smartphone, but inside you will get Exynos 9611 SoC, along with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. A 4,050mAh battery will power the device and does support 15W fast charging.
The rear part of the Galaxy XCover Pro comes with a dual camera, in which you get 25MP primary as well as 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera. The front-facing camera is a 13MP sensor. Now the ruggedness of the smartphone.
First, this smartphone can be operated with either wet hands or if you wear a glove. Second, this smartphone comes with IP68 Water and Dust resistant certificate, 3rd, you get full US Military Standard certification, MIL-STD-810, and 4th, it has a freaking REMOVABLE BATTERY! It has been years when we saw smartphones with a removable battery.
There are two programmable buttons that can be programmed to use a flashlight key or create a text message with your voice. The power button/ fingerprint reader and Volume rockers are different keys.
