After laying off the entire CPU dev team in Austin, Samsung might sell the Galaxy S11 with Snapdragon 865 SoC outside the USA and China.
Till the Note 10, we have seen two different variants of every Samsung smartphone. The Snapdragon variants usually launch in the USA and China, whereas the rest of the world gets the Exynos variant.
As per Sammobile, the difference between the Exynos 990 and Snapdragon 865 is very huge. The 865 uses the latest ARM Cortex-A77 SoC, whereas the Exynos 990 comes with 2 M2 custom cores and older A76 cores. Also, there is a huge difference between the two, thermal management and battery efficiency.
And this might be the case that Samsung is going with the Qualcomm instead of their own Exynos. And after the Galaxy S11 goes with Snapdragon elsewhere we might see new Samsung smartphones with Snapdragon in the future.
