With no carrier-based phone contracts in India, Samsung is now giving selected smartphones on rent. This step might help Samsung to sell more flagship smartphones in India.
Due to fewer sales of the flagship in India, Samsung has decided to give smartphones on rent in the country. However, there are only selected smartphones under this scheme. These smartphones are the Galaxy S10 and S10+, the Note 10/10+, Note 9 and the galaxy A70. Also, these smartphones are available for rent in selected cities only. These are Bangalore, Pune, Delhi, Gurgaon, Noida, Mumbai, Chennai and Hyderabad. The renting is possible due to a partnership between Samsung and RentMojo.
However, this can be a bit costly in comparison to the normal EMI plans. The normal EMI starts from ₹6,899 a month for the No EMI plan. Whereas the renting costs ₹3,449 a month, which is payable at the end of the calendar month.
The price mentioned depends on the city and model as well. So it can cost you more than the normal price of the smartphone.
