A few days back we saw that Google is working on RCS in its Messages Beta app. And it was tedious to activate it, about which you can read here. Please note this process is for those who cannot use RCS at all.
In a blog post today, Google talked about upgrading their Messages with RCS, which means, WhatsApp like IM, in your default messaging app. That means you will not be charged from Telecom for each message.
Do note, the RCS or Rich Messaging Service allows you to chat over the Internet. And you can send high res images over the internet, without compression. (WhatsApp, where are you? Oh, you are still working on the Dark mode as well. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ )
Plus, the Messages will allow you to create, rename groups as well. By the end of this year, Google promises to roll out the chat feature. So in the coming days, you may receive a notification to activate your cat settings in the App.
The feature is currently active in three countries: the UK, Mexico, and France, as of now.
