Recently, Samsung released the third One UI 2.0 update. The update brought many new features along with some improvements and bug fixes to the OS, however, there is a hidden hint that the Galaxy S11 might come with a 108MP camera.
Founded by XDA Developers, the source code of the Camera app revealed an interesting thing. Somewhere inside the app source code, XDA found out that there is a certain variable inside the code. This has a comment saying drawable:ic_camera_quick_ic_ratio_3v4_sr_108mp, which clearly says, there is a 3:4 aspect ratio for the 108MP present.
When they converted the code to the bytecode, it returns an amazing finding. The results show a whooping 12000×9000 resolution of images! Yes, The Galaxy S11 will feature a camera with an amazing lens. This can capture so much big image, that too with awesome clarity.
However, the code doesn’t mention anything about which device is going to feature this image. Samsung may be able to bring a phone which can capture superb images, with amazing clarity, and yes, superb Low Light images. And there is a lot of chance that Samsung might bring its own version of Astrophotography on Galaxy handsets.
There is a possibility that Samsung might use this new unannounced camera for its top tier Galaxy A-series smartphones in the coming years as well.
