WhatsApp, after being acquired by Facebook, has seen a lot of features similar to the parent app. However, there are very few changes happening in the WhatsApp Business app. This time, Facebook now lets you share a shopping catalog with your potential buyers.
With this new feature, WhatsApp will allow sellers to share their entire inventory with the buyers. In a blog post, WhatsApp mentions
We are making it easier to learn about the products and services businesses offer with the introduction of catalogs in the WhatsApp Business app
This approach will make the smaller business look more professional, and may attract buyers to them. Catalogs will become an easier part of the business because they make the store more complete, and transparent so that the buyers do not have any problems later on.
Catalogs will contain information not limited to images, product descriptions, etc.
To create a Catalog, all you have to do is, head to Settings>Catalog in WhatsApp Business app, and follow up the instruction. The feature is rolling out in a few countries. These countries are Brazil, Germany, India, Indonesia, Mexico, the UK, and the US.
However, as of now, a buyer cannot buy anything from the Catalog.
