Play Store is going Dark, Android Pie gets it but with a twist

Since Android 10 has a system-wide dark mode inbuilt, all the Google Apps are also getting dark mode in recent times. This time it is the Play Store. Although it started getting ‘DARK’ a few weeks back, now it is rolling out to users.

And this dark mode is pretty soft and decent, unlike Instagram. Which has the AMOLED Dark, which is actually dark mode made for AMOLED phones. And here the pixels of the AMOLED display turns off, thus giving rich black mode.

But in the Play Store and other Google apps that got their dark mode, it is a darker grey color, which is pleasant on the other hand, in comparison to the AMOLED dark.

The App version is 16.9.18-all[0][PR] 270573219.

However, do note one thing. The dark mode is available on Android 10 only since it is the only platform to support Dark mode system-wide. However, if you own one of the recent Samsung phones with One UI, you will also get the same, just by enabling the Night Mode on your smartphone.

I’ve got a Galaxy A6 Plus smartphone with Android 9 Pie and One UI, so turning Night Mode on will let you enjoy the materialistic Darker Play Store at night!

The dark color here used has the hex code #202125
