Although filed a patent quite a long back, Microsoft finally unveils the Surface Duo at Microsoft event today. The Duo is a dual-screen smartphone running Android onboard.
Not much of the specifications of the smartphone are known, however, it is similar to the Surface Pro X which I will discuss in a later blog post. And as per Microsoft, this piece of hardware will run Android, along with Google Apps, and has a dual-screen. Please note, it doesn’t have a foldable AMOLED screen, but an entirely dual-screen.
Although running Android, this is complete production-centric hardware under the Surface line-up. Yes, it is foldable, that too in an adaptive way.
Other than the known internal matters, the device features one power key, volume rocker keys, a USB Type-C port at the bottom. And the front camera resides on the bottom portion of the device.
And if you see the Software here, the initial stage of the video shows the Microsoft Launcher as a default launcher on the device. Also, the lock screen has a customized clock.
Here are some stills from the video captured by 9to5Google

As of now, the Surface Duo will go on sale in the holiday season of 2020.
