Apple had announced its gaming service, Apple Arcade, in its September event at $4.99 per month. Today, Google is formally introducing its own subscription-based access to premium mobile games. The fresh Google Play Pass subscription will deliver over 350 fully unlocked applications and games, with no upfront charges, in-app purchases, or ads and it’s just $1.99 a month.
Google’s service is not restricted to games alone, and contains already-released titles such as Stardew Valley, Terraria, Monument Valley, Old Republic Knights, Facetune, and AccuWeather. Google’s offers are not exclusive either, which is one of Apple Arcade’s main characteristics.
Once Play Pass is available on your Android device, you can start the 10-day free trial by going to the Google Play Store. Tap on the hamburger menu icon on the left side of the search bar and look for Play Pass.
Google is offering a promo, though, which will allow subscribers to sign up for $1.99 per month for the first year for a limited time. A Play Pass subscription can be shared with up to five other family members.
