5 Reasons You Should Get Xbox Game Pass

Before Xbox Game Pass, there was MoviePass. The service offered moviegoers a chance to see unlimited movies over a certain period of time. Riddled with obvious flaws, the plan was changed time and time again to devolve into what it is today: a kind of worth it pass to see some movies at some places at certain times.

Many feared the the Xbox Game Pass would follow the same path by simply being too good to be true.

We recently passed the two year mark of the Xbox Game Pass, having been released in June of 2017, the system is thriving to say the least. With two years of amazing success and no signs of slowing down, XGP is here to stay.

But if you’re still on the fence about it, check out the following list to convince you to join up.

It Takes Your Xbox to the Next Level

It’s no secret that Xbox goes above and beyond for the comfort of its users, truly working as a consumer-first product.

The Xbox has evolved drastically since its inception in 2001. Long gone are the days of having to continuously pop discs in and change them out. Now, your Xbox functions more like a PC, a database for games. Having the XGP is one way to turn it into a PC like device. XGP gives you the flexibility Steam does, adding games every month for you to try.

It takes your Xbox from having just a few games to hundreds, all with the click of a button.

It’s Great Value

XGP has been running plenty of promotions as of late. For a while, it was $1 for three months of use. Now, the offer has “gotten worse” being $2 for two months. After you run through this promotion, you can combine it with your Gold membership for $5 extra per month.

That means that you’ll be getting Gold and XGP for just $14.99. Not bad to have access to online play, updates, plenty of apps, free games, monthly deals, and the full XGP library.

If you’re someone that just buys a few games this year then it’s definitely worth picking up as you get to explore plenty of other games for a small price.

It Has Great Titles

You might think that with an offer such as this one, you’ll be stuck playing Single-A games or indie games that never really branched outside their cult following. Well, you’ve thought wrong.

Microsoft’s big titles all make it to XGP, including the following:

  • Crackdown 3
  • All Gears of War Games
  • All Halo Games
  • Sea of Thieves
  • Forza Motorsport
  • Sunset Overdrive

The best part is, you’ll be able to play these games from day one. Gears of War 5 will be ready to play from day one, with all the features included. It’s simply too great a bargain to pass up.

The Library is Huge

Besides having plenty of fantastic AAA titles, the library is also stocked with plenty of other games. You’ll also find backwards compatibility games from Xbox 360, including the classic Fable games, Metro Exodus, Metal Gear Solid, Devil May Cry, and more. You’ll be able to hop into Rocket League and play crossplay across any consoles as well.

The library is often updated as well, meaning you can simply wait and check the news if you’re hyped about another game coming. There’s simply something for everyone, from hardcore players to those who just pick up the controller every now and then.

One caveat though is that the AAA titles immediately available in XGP are all going to be produced by Microsoft Studios. Don’t be expecting the new Call of Duty to be available there anytime soon.

You Can Link to Your PC

If you’re a PC gamer and a console gamer, then the XGP offers the perfect chance for you to link your two machines. With certain payment plans, you can have your Xbox games on your PC (via the Xbox app) and vice versa.

So no more worrying about your roommate or partner taking over the living room for something non-gamer related, as you can simply pop up the Xbox app on your computer and game away to your heart’s content.
