In order to make the ownership ‘more clearer’, Facebook has stated that it will rebrand both WhatsApp and Instagram. We saw this coming after The Information first reported about this.
“We want to be clearer about the products and services that are part of Facebook,” Bertie Thomson, a Facebook spokeswoman, said. This confirms Facebook’s plan to rebrand both apps. After the change, both Instagram and WhatsApp will show “by Facebook” tags in the App Store, as well as on their respective log-in screens.
The change is rolling out to users now, added Facebook. Other reports also suggest that Facebook will also be soon integrating all its three chatting platforms – Messenger, WhatsApp, and Instagram DM.
