Xiaomi’s Blackshark series is all about mobile gaming. And this time, it’s even more powerful than ever.
The Blackshark 2 Pro comes with a Snapdragon 855+ processor which is couple ed with 12 GB RAM. This is the same processor which is used in the recently launched ASUS ROG Phone 2 which is also a gaming phone.
Along with the power, it also has a 240Hz touch response rate and 34.7ms touch latency. However, the actual refresh rate could just be 60Hz as Xiaomi didn’t reveal it.
The device has a massive 6.39-inch full HD+ AMOLED screen with in-display fingerprint sensor. It also doesn’t have a notch. There’s still 4,000 mAh battery like last year but Xiaomi has added 27 watt quick charging via USB-C.
There’s also UFS 3.0 storage, a 48MP+12MP telephoto rear pairing, a 20MP selfie camera, and also RGB strips on the back of the device which isn’t surprising.
Gaming specific features include custom touch zones for various in-game actions, a Game Dock overlay for in-game adjustments, a feature similar to mouse DPI settings, and 0.3mm touch precision.
Xiaomi has priced the 12GB/128GB variant for 2,999 yuan (~$436), while the 12GB/256GB model retails for 3,499 yuan (~$508).
It’s a pretty good value for phone so powerful like this. As they say, good phones are getting cheaper and cheap phones are getting better.
