Galaxy J7 Duo finally gets the Android Pie update today. The Android Pie also brings One UI 1.1 on the device as well. The J7 Duo is the first mid-range device with high-performance core processor and also the first device to feature the dual-camera.
The processor in this device is the Exynos 7884, the underclocked variant of Exynos 7885, which comes with A8 2018.
The update is a hefty 1.2GB in size and has the firmware variant, J720FDDU4BSG7, brings not much of the things that are on the other Android Pie devices. Other than the Night Mode, and Digital Wellbeing there is not much interesting. It is also possible that the device will also not get the Always On Display, thanks to its 720p display.
Also, there might be a chance that it will also not have the Blue Light Filter feature as well. Since the device didn’t come with Dolby Atmos, there is no chance that it will come on the device at all.
And the other features are pretty similar. This update also brings the July 2019 Security patch to the device, thus making the device up to date to the latest security.
If you own a Galaxy J7 Duo in India, head to Settings > Software Update. Also, if you have a Windows/Mac device, you can update the software using the Smart Switch application on the given platform.
