Asus’s ROG Phone 2 is set to have a smooth 120 Hz display and will be powered by the new Snapdragon 855+ processor. The phone will be the first to feature the new SoC.
About the 120 Hz display, the news comes courtesy of ASUS’s Weibo account, which announced a partnership with Tencent’s “Under One Person” webcomic-based game. This game is going to be the first to fully take advantage of the upcoming phone’s 120Hz display, but more games fully utilizing the display are planned.
Qualcomm claims that the Snapdragon 855+ has 15% higher GPU performance as well as a small bump in the CPU’s number-crunching power than the 855. Also, the ROG Phone 2 will come with 12GB of RAM.
There are rumors that it will support fast charging as well. But we think that it’ll be limited to 30W at least for now.
