Google Fi Users facing problem while placing calls

A massive blackout seems to have hit the Google Fi. As indicated by an 86-comment thread on the Fi forum, many Fi users are unable to make or receive calls over Fi. Wi-Fi calling and SMS don’t seem, by all means, to be affected, as per the forum users say.

Alongside the numerous users on the discussions, Android Authority has confirmed the Google Fi blackout using three separate phones.

Strangely, while huge numbers of the forum users are unable to place Wi-Fi calls using Fi. Each of the three of the phones experienced Fi blackouts on both Wi-Fi and cellular calls.

The firm knows about the Fi outage and is effectively working for a fix. Meanwhile, Google suggests:

  • Download the Hangouts Dialer.
  • In Hangouts, set incoming calls to “On”: Settings > Your Fi Account Google Fi Calls & SMS >Incoming Calls (On).
