You can try Harry Potter: Wizards Unite (on Android)

How you can you play Harry Potter: Wizards Unite right now?

To be able to play the beta of Harry Potter: Wizards Unite you will need a little bit of Android know how. Currently, the beta is only out for a select few who pre-registered and got chosen to try the game. However, this won’t stop the rest of us from trying the game, right? Some kind soul extracted the APK and gave it to Android Police to make it availible to all of us! All you have to do is go to this link. This will take you to Android Police’s APK mirror to obtain the file to side load the application. Click the brown, rectangular button that says “Download APK”. On top of the button it will say “Verified safe to install (read more)”. This is where I must put the disclaimer that you’re downloading this at your own risk! I have never had an issue with APK mirror, I tend to sideload every update for Pokemon Go from here because it’s faster that way, however I put a disclaimer here just in case. There is also a good chance you won’t get banned from starting the game through the APK. I didn’t get banned from Pokemon Go when I downloaded it early, however your results may vary. After you download the file just click it, follow the prompts on your specific Android device and open the app! Now, let’s see what it looks like, shall we?

How does the game look?

Pretty good honestly. Below you will see some screenshots with some comparisons. You can draw your own conclusions from there.

Here is a comparison in the same area to Pokemon Go.

I was not able to get gameplay screenshots because I forgot to take pictures during the tutorial. I’ll explain more in the section below.

What’s it like to Play the Game?

I was only able to do one encounter, and it was part of the tutorial. I’m not sure if this is because I downloaded the APK, my poor internet access, nothing going on in the game in my area, or that it’s a beta. The game focuses a lot on AR so I can assume it’ll play a little more slowly than Pokemon Go. I would like to get a better feel for the game though. In the tutorial there’s also full voice acting which is really cool. Even if you just try the game I think you’ll get some enjoyment out of it. I can only imagine how the game will evolve. For now though, let me know what you think of the game if you try it. Is there stuff going on where you live? Will you continue playing? Let me know in the comments below.
