Recently Pixel devices got second Android Q preview update. And it brought something, that was in rumors before. That is Pixel Themes on Android Q. This is an app hidden deep inside the system, waiting for the day when it comes alive out of hibernation.
The Pixel Themes will control the customization of the Android Q. This is discovered by XDA Developers, and might come out in its full potential, once the Android Q matures.
You will have only four color options for now. Including colors, you will have predefined Icon Shapes, Size, Fonts, and colors.
- Blue – default,
- Green and,
However, leaving blue, we have three different codenames for the rest of the colors.
- Anthony: Black Accent, Rubik Font, and Rounded/Squircle icons.
- Johanna: Green Accent, Arvo and Lato Font, and Filled Icons.
- Reiko: Purple Accent, Arbutus Font, and Teardrop Icons.
However, Google should not limit the customization to these preset values. They might allow users to change the things in their own flavors.
But, Android Q is still a newborn. It will take time to polish and add new things into the OS as well.
