Sony has been mum for quite a while now with no latest launches in the past few months. Since its time MWC, Sony seems to have woken up from their sleep. The Japanese company has successfully trademarked the “CinemaWide” displays for its upcoming smartphones with a 21:9 aspect ratios.
The XA3 will bring a design overhaul to the company’s offerings in the mid-range tier. The Sony Xperia XA3 comes without any bezels on three sides except for that huge ugly one at the top, come on its 2019, the year of notch!. Anyways, coming back to the XA3 the new Cinemawide 21:9 display will attract a lot of people.
The device is said to come in Black, Blue and gold and grey color variants. Also, its said the XA3 will have a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, most likely on the power button as seen previously on the Nextbit Robin.
The device is said to sport a 6.5inch display with Full HD+ display with protected 2.5D curved tempered glass and is said to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC with at least 4GB and 64GB internal storage, which is said to be the base variant. As for the optics, the XA3 will house a 23MP primary camera and an 8MP secondary sensor on the dual camera setup at the rear. The cameras are said to offer various features such as a wide-angle lens, portrait mode, video recording at 1080p and slow-mo recording as well.
As for the connectivity, the Sony Xperia XA3 will come with a USB-Type C port for file transfer and charging. The device will run on a custom skin based on Android 9.0 Pie, the device is said to cost around $400.
