MIUI updates have been constant over these past few months and Xiaomi’s update cycle varies over many factors. Recently, the Redmi Note 5 and the Redmi 6 Pro were amongst the Xiaomi devices to receive a discount and they are the ones about to receive the Android Pie update. Well, so will the Mi 6X and the Redmi S2.
The company has started rolling the beta updates and if you are interested to sign up for the beta program you can do so by following this link. The Pie update was promised to the devices like the Mi Mix 3 and the Mi 8 and they were delivered as promised. The Mi 6X, Note 5 Pro and the Redmi 6 Pro along with the Redmi Y2 will be the ones getting the beta in Q1 2019. The patch notes of the update is not yet out but a revamped UI is expected although, take this with a pinch of salt at the moment.
As of now, the company has not stated any official information on the stable update, we are waiting on it. In the meantime, you can download the beta and try it on your device and provide valuable feedback to the company. Since the update is still in beta there will be a lot of bugs and glitches so only sign up for it if you are experienced in this field.
