AT&T Now Supports eSIM on the iPhone

eSIM has finally come to the iPhones with AT&T being the first major US carrier to support them. Apple also released iOS 12.1.1 to the public which includes eSIM support.

eSIMs are embedded SIMs integrates the identification technology of the plastic card directly into the device’s processor or the modem itself.Ā This meansĀ you donā€™t have to buy a plastic SIM card with a chip inside. You only have to get authorized/registered by a telecom operator of your choice which is AT&T in this case.

AT&T says that you can have two SIMs on your iPhone. This is good for those who have separate work and personal numbers. Apple’s website says that T-Mobile and Verizon will also support eSIM later this year.
