Skype is Getting a Live Caption Feature in Video Calls Soon

Skype is introducing live caption and subtitle feature in its video calls pretty soon. Also, Microsoft PowerPoint will get this feature and both the apps will rely on the company’s artificial intelligence work. Live caption option is available by pressing the “more,” or (+), button during a call and turning subtitles on. This can be set as a default, too.

The feature will be on auto-scroll by default. Users will be able to scroll through captions in a side window so that the texts don’t cascade. Live Caption on Skype will be available on  Android, iOS, Linux, Mac, and Windows, as well as Skype for Windows 10, although the roll-out might take a while. The company will also roll out translations for more than 20 languages in the coming weeks.
