Just last year, we saw the Essential Phone 1 and the iPhone X. And with these, started the ‘notch’ trend. every other phone now has a notch, or at least the modern 18:9 form factor. But our mission has remained the same – How close we can get to fully bezel-less displays? With phones having camera cutout?
To get a step closer to achieve this goal, Samsung and Huawei have come up with an exciting idea. To have a separate camera cutout for the phone. That sounds eximious. Both the companies have been teasing their technologies for a while, the latest being Huawei. Huawei posted a picture on Weibo (China’s version of Instagram) which has a cutout for a camera.

We don’t know much about this phone except that it has a camera cutout and a headphone jack. That might be good news for those looking for a viable solution for the 2018 headphone jack crisis.
In Samsung Developer Conference, the company told us about how it will implement sensors under the display to achieve the almost bezel-less form factor. The display is called Infinity-O which has a camera cutout and is expected to be seen on future Samsung phones.
