Back at the Pixel 3 launch event, Google announced a mind-blowing feature which answered spam calls and transcribed the conversation in real time. The feature, called call screening, is finally rolling out to the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL as well.
The feature is built-in in Google’s native phone app. When you suspect a spam call, you can tap the “screen call” button. Google Assistant will then take over and alert the caller that you are using a screening service. Then it will transcribe the conversation in real time.
The call screening feature is enabled on the Google Phone app by default. Once you’ve installed the update, you don’t have to do anything to enable it. You can adjust the voice type or go through a demo to see how it works by going into the settings.
The feature is rolling out the all the Pixels in the coming days. There’s not a timeline however as the feature isnt listed in the phone updates app.
