Spotify Announces its App for WatchOS

Spotify has finally announced an official app for WatchOS. The app follows its Beta version which appeared a week ago. It comes well over a year after Spotify hired Andrew Chang to develop the Apple Watch app.

We’re constantly on the go—whether bouncing between the gym, work, school, errands, or just chilling—and our smartwatches are the tool to help keep us up to speed. Today, Spotify is introducing a new app for the Apple Watch, giving you the ability to seamlessly access and control your favorite music and podcasts without missing a beat.

Just like Apple Music for Apple Watch, Spotify users will now be able to control their music by interacting with their watch. The app gives an ability for users to play and control music to their speakers or other devices using Spotify Connect.

Users can also access their recently played songs or favorite songs by tapping the heart icon on the Apple Watch screen. Spotify also plans to make music available offline, which isn’t available yet.

To get Spotify on your Apple Watch, make sure you have the latest version of Spotify on iOS. You will see the Spotify for WatchOS version over the next week.
