It seems like Apple is finally working to update its already impressive AirPods. The device’s listings were added to the Bluetooth Special Interest Group’s regulatory database on November 1, 2018.

This means Apple will launch the AirPods (2?) at its next event. The listing features model numbers A2031 and A2032 (L and R AirPod) both of which have completed the Bluetooth Qualification Process. The new AirPods will support Bluetooth 5.0. rumors suggest that these will support wireless “Hey Siri!” functionality.
Rumors also suggest that they will come with a next-gen wireless charging case. If Apple is planning to include a wireless charging case, it could also mean that the AirPower could also come soon.
Apple experienced difficulties regarding heat management, interference, and inter-device communication for the AirPower. Apple even removed most of the AirPower mentions from its website. If Apple introduces the earbuds with the AirPower, it will be a real breakthrough for them.
