Last November, Verizon announced that they’re working to bring 5G home internet service to a few US cities. Many residents signed up for the pre orders last month. Verizon has kept its promise and the Verizon 5G services are available from today (October 1st, 2018).
Installations have started for residents living in Houston, Indianapolis, Los Angeles, and Sacramento. Customers will be able to access typical Wi-Fi speeds around 300 MBPS and peak speeds up to 1 GBPS
As per the deal, Verizon is offering three months of its 5G Home service for free, which will then cost $50 a month for existing Verizon customers, and $70 for non-Verizon customers.
The company is also offering a free Chromecast or Apple TV 4K, and three months of YouTube TV. The service comes with installation included, and first access to 5G mobile devices when they become available in their area.
Verizon thus because the World’s first 5G commercial network. Although their 5G mobile services will remain to be seen until 2019. Other companies like AT&T, T-Mobile, and Sprint are also developing 5G smartphones. It seems like the 5G race is now on!
