At Unpacked 2018, Samsung introduced its first Bixby enabled smart speaker. The new smart speaker has a very elegant look with a completely different design. This speaker, called Galaxy Home is the first smart speaker from Samsung.
The new smart speaker is solely tuned by AKG. Yes the same company that tuned speaker from Tab S4. The design here is quite impressive. The three-legged speaker has 8 microphones inbuilt so that it can hear you from another room. Also, it comes with 3 neodymium speakers, giving you surround sound. The speaker also comes with Subwoofer for deep bass reproduction. The Galaxy Home comes with Sound optimization technology. That means it will change the sound according to the environment where it is placed.
Also, inbuilt is the Natural Sound Processing, that means the sound will sound you natural. Samsung has incorporated their AI – Bixby into the speaker with Smart Things services.
A very good thing to note here that Samsung has partnered with Spotify to provide you seamless music everywhere n any Samsung device. Their motive is to give the user an easy way to switch between devices but keep playing their favorite songs. In the coming months or weeks, Samsung will preinstall Spotify on your devices. Also, you can link your Samsung Account with Spotify. Also, Samsung Music will come with Spotify integrated so that you can listen to your favorite music. That too from Samsung Music app.
Bixby and Galaxy Home
At the event, Ji Soo Yi, the Vice President of AI strategy at Samsung, says that several changes had been done in Bixby. This makes it more personal, more friendly and conversational AI. You can even make reservations at restaurants without even have to fill in all your details again and again.
Even without installing every separate app from Play Store, Bixby will do the reservation for you, making it far more useful. Samsung is now working with Google to incorporate certain core features of Google Assistant. The same thing you can do from both Galaxy Note 9 as well as Galaxy Home itself.
