Malware changing your wallet address into its own
Researchers at BleepingComputers has found a new malware in the Windows world. This harmful piece of software is attacking user’s clipboard, without his knowledge. This nasty piece of code is hidden into your system in form of a Dynamic Link Library or a “.dll” file in your PC. It sizes a massive 83MBytes and acts as a DirectX file. It hides a massive 2.5 million lines of code and, hijacker’s own CrytoWallet address.
Now How does it works? When it infects your PC, it sits right within the DirectX files and waits. When, by any means, you copy an address of CryptoWallet into your clipboard, it will start up. Then, it will copy the hijacker’s wallet id in place of your id. Now it works inside the clipboard, so you would never know when that happened. Only now, when damage has already been done.
Here’s how the malware works:
A BleepingComputer Suggests, keep your antivirus solution up to date and do check the address when pasting and copying.
