Intel commemorate 8086’s anniversary with limited edition 5GHz Core i7-8086K

At Computex 2018 Taipei today Intel announced it’s new limited edition 8th Gen 5GHz Core i7-8086K processor. Marking the 40th anniversary of Intel’s first processor Intel 8086 this new processor, which even has the same model number – 8086K, will be released on June 8th.

The processor will run at single-core 4GHz clock speed by default, but it is can be overclocked to whooping 5GHz turbo frequency if needed be. It also features Intel’s first 6-core, 12-thread processor with integrated graphics in an 1151-pin package supporting a 64-bit instruction set.

The processor will be available for purchase at popular retailers and technology suppliers starting 8th June 12:01 PDT however the actual price is not yet announced.
