Vivo Nex, formerly called Vivo Apex, is going to be officially launched on June 12, according to the invites sent by Vivo.
The phone was shown off by Vivo in MWC 2018 as a prototype device and now it’s official. The prototype caught attention because Vivo made a major breakthrough in the 2018 design language, an All Screen Display with no notch. Instead, the phone has a pop-up selfie cam, and an underglass fingerprint sensor.
Vivo announced that it would release the phone to the public at some point in 2018. Now, we likely have a date for the official unveiling: June 12, 2018.
We don’t know the official specs or the countries where the phone will be on sale. But we do know that the phone will be launched in China initially and could come to other Asian markets soon.
For starters, the Vivo Nex Prototype featured a 5.99-inch OLED panel, a Snapdragon 845, and a USB Type-C connector next to a 3.5 mm headphone jack.
Reports suggest that the underglass fingerprint sensor is not bad, infact the speed is around the same as that of TouchID’s first generation.
With the backlash against the notch design concept still at a fever pitch, the Vivo Apex is the first device to truly solve the problems surrounding an all-display smartphone. We’ll keep you posted as more information comes in surrounding the launch of this new Vivo device.
