Gone will be the days when you would secretly take screenshots of your friends/you know whose stories. Now, the Facebook-acquired app is going to notify the user that someone has taken a screenshot of the story, kind of like Snapchat but without a standalone notification that pops out, instead it would show up in the story details.
When you take a screenshot, this is how it looks :
A twitter user spotted this update by Instagram and has shown us how the warning would look, when you try to click a screenshot :
Instagram is now notifying users when somebody takes a screenshot of their stories…..

If you are a proper Instagram user, you must be knowing that Instagram alerts you when someone takes a screenshot of the image you send them in Direct.
If you still want to be a ninja and take screenshots, this is what you can do :
- Open your Instagram and load the story.
- Turn on Airplane mode.
- Open the story again and click a screenshot!
Well, you can alternatively use Story Savers app available in the Play Store.
This update is a slow roll-out, so if you find some screenshot-able stories, you should do it now before the update comes down haunting you.
