OnePlus has started rolling out the stable Oxyegn 5.0.2 for OnePlus 5T. This is the first OTA update by the company that brings Android Oreo 8.0 to the flagship.
This update being the first Oreo Update for the 5T, is being released in phases. The device owners are expected to get the update sooner or later. Just a day back, the company had released the Open Beta 3 which removed the controversial Clipboard app and included a patch for CPU vulnerabilities.
The new update redesigns the Quick settings panel and also brings number of bug fixes and mitigation for CPU vulnerability including Spectre attacks which could steal user credentials like passwords and card details. Some system apps are also updated along with the above mentioned changes.
The system apps include, the System launcher that is updated to version 2.2 while the Gallery app is update to v2.0 The File manager and the weather app have been updated as well.
Not to mention, the update also brings the core Oreo features like gesture support, PIP mode, support for notification dots and notification channels.
Talking about the OnePlus 5, the update brings Face Unlock and a fix for the Spectre CPU vulnerability. The update also brings enhanced electronic image stabilization for video recording. The system apps have been updated to the same versions like the 5T. There are other bug fixes and stabilizations that come with this update.
The update size is 1.7GB for the owners of the OnePlus 5T while the OnePlus 5 gets a 500MB incremental update. As mentioned earlier, the update is being rolled out in phases, so do not panic.
