AMD Ryzen 5, 7 and Threadripper chips’ prices slashed

AMD in the long-running rivalry with Intel has decided to permanently slash prices of it Ryzen 5, Ryzen 7 and Threadripper processor chips. The announcement was made at CES 2018 by AMD on Sunday night.

AMD, in order to directly compete with Intel, branded CPUs will sell its Ryzen series of processors at lower prices than the Intel equivalent. AMD originally offered price cuts on its processor as a part of Black Friday deals, but it has been made permanent now.

Price cuts as per the annoucement by AMD:

  • Ryzen Threadripper 1900X: $549 to $449.
  • Ryzen 7 1800X: $499 to $349.
  • Ryzen 7 1700X: $399 to $309.
  • Ryzen 5 1600X: $249 to $219.
  • Ryzen 5 1600: $219 to $189.
  • Ryzen 5 1500X: $189 to $174.

AMD is definitely making it’s presence known in the market by its recent moves. They made many interesting annoucements at CES 2018 including new desktop and mobile Ryzen processors, new GPUs and the Intel partnership. For those looking to buy high end rig but are tight on budget should now consider AMD based processor equivalent for their system.
