Gionee looks set to launch another mid-range smartphone in India in the form of the S11. The S11, which comes with four cameras, 6GB of RAM and a bezel-less design, will arrive on Indian shores in January 2018.
Gionee is betting big on the bezel-less mania that has enveloped smartphones these days. Gionee showcased the S11 along with the M7 Plus, S11s and four other bezel-less smartphones at an even in Shenzhen, China last month.
Gionee plans to make a big dent in the mid-range segment in India with the S11 which according to the report will be priced below Rs 20,000. The S11 has a glass and metal design with a dual camera setup on the front as well as the back. The frame of the phone is made out of stainless steel which Gionee claims is 27 per cent harder than aluminium.
The Gionee S11 is powered by the MediaTek Helio P23 processor clocked at 2.3 GHz paired with 4GB of RAM and a sizeable 3,410mAh battery. The phone comes with 64GB of storage on board which can be expanded via a microSD card (of up to 128GB).
One of the biggest highlights of the S11 (save for the quad camera setup) is its 5.99-inch display that flows from one edge to the other. It has a tall 18:9 aspect ratio and a resolution of 2160×1080 (FullHD+). The smartphone runs on Android 7.1 Nougat with Gionee’s custom Amigo OS on top.
The S11’s piece de resistance is its camera setup. The smartphone comes with a dual camera setup on the front as well as the back. There is a 16+5MP dual camera setup on the back as well as a 16+5MP dual camera setup on the front. The front and rear cameras also come with advanced beautification features.
