HTC has been touting its cameras for as long as I can remember. Ever since I used the HTC One M7 I have been less than impressed with HTC meeting its promises with its camera. In 2016 HTC seemed to be making a move forward with cameras when it included OIS into the front camera on the HTC 10 but quickly dropped that with the U Ultra. The OIS may have helped this lack luster video. I will leave the video in the source link below and the selfie in question makes its debut at around 25 seconds for a split second. The picture unfortunately gets showed to us a bit of a dark and blurry mess. The rest of the ad is wonderful, however the bad selfie is the only part that really showcases the U11+ and unfortunately does it badly.
We really like HTC and it is upsetting to see them make such a blunder. Every review will say that HTC has some amazing cameras, even some saying the U11 had one of the best rear cameras of 2017. We hope that HTC will try some less extreme scenarios to push its camera, or take care in which pictures it puts in its ads. We also hope to see HTC’s upcoming flagship phone in 2018.
What do you all think? Do you think this is HTC’s biggest blunder yet and can’t recover, or can we as a community overlook this? Let us know in the comments below.
