Yesterday, there was a report claiming that HP disappointed with Microsoft’s effort on the mobile platform is scrapping Elite X3 this November. It was not much surprising because we have already seen how Microsoft has abandoned their Mobile OS along with the OEMs and users. Since RS2, Windows 10 Mobile hardly received any new features while Microsoft has been focusing on the desktop counterpart more. HP’s Elite X3 was an extraordinary device and one of the best Windows Phone ever. Its continuum approach gave windows phone fans a hope to see some growth but the lack of support from Microsoft led it to its downfall. However, HP has responded with a statement after such rumors started spreading:
HP is always responding to customer feedback to deliver the best product experiences. We remain committed to our mobility strategy and vision and will sell the Elite x3 through 2019 while continuing to enhance our portfolio delivering multi-OS devices, accessories and workflow transformation solutions. Mobility is an exciting and rapidly evolving area, and HP will continue to explore ways to address our customers’ mobile computing needs.
