One of the key things HMD Global promised during launch of new Nokia smartphones was to provide updates quickly. It does not seem much hard since Nokia uses a near-stock ROM. It makes Nokia to be a good option for buyers since other budget Android OEM hardly provides update. Today, Juho Sarvikas, the Chief Product Officer at HMD Global, cleared some queries on Twitter regarding 7.1.1 update and upcoming Oreo update. He said that 7.1.1 Update has been approved and will roll out slowly.

All of our smartphones will upgrade to Oreo, Nokia 3 included. No comments yet on timing so that I don't get into trouble 😊.

While there is no ETA but considering the devices are new and Nokia have a reputation of pushing update, we can safely say that Oreo will come soon. All the devices, such as, Nokia 3, 5, 6, 8 will receive Android 8.0 Oreo.
