Official ESL eSport app available for Windows 10 (Mobile)

Turtle Entertainment, the company behind the popular eSport brand, ESL, published it's official app for Windows 10 (Mobile) today.

With Windows 10 Microsoft has introduced a new app platform, once again. From Windows Phone 7.8 to Windows Phone 8.0 developement changed and now with Windows 10 the company is offering a new app platform again. However, this time things are a bit different. The company is now offering a universal windows app platform which allows developers to bring apps to the Windows Store without the need to change too much if the app should be working on all different platforms. The app gap on Windows is just too famous but it seems like Microsoft can attract more and more developers with that strategy.

While we have got a brand new Facebook Messenger, Instagram and Twitter app in the last couple of weeks there are now coming more and more apps to the store. Last week we have got an official Steam app for Windows, Formual 1 has been added and now there is an available for the popular eSport brand ESL. The app is a true universal app which can be used on PC’s and Tablets as well as phones.

The app feels pretty good already, though there are some lags from time to time. Inside the app you can check for current tournaments and sign up for them. You can check for upcoming matches and cups, as well getting notifications for upcoming matches you have subscribed to. Here is a full list of features which have been implemented in the brand new ESL App for Windows.

  • Find, sign up and play in tournaments for more than 60 games
  • Check your upcoming matches and cups
  • Receive notifications for tournaments you’re signed up for
  • Manage and create your teams and invite your friends
  • Watch VoDs of the biggest esports events

So it seems like Microsoft can finally attract developers to bring their apps to the Windows platform. In fact it totally makes sense, if you consider the market share of Windows without dividing it into platforms. It has got the widest market share of all operating systems then. Hopefully more and more companies will realize that and bring their apps to Windows in the future. There are of course also some examples which are showing us the opposite like Pokémon Go tough I think it is time to be optimistic.

If you want to try this new ESL Windows app you can download it below. Feel free to drop us a comment below with your thoughts on the app, and stay tuned for more Microsoft related news in the future.
