Formerly known as Windows Phone Recovery Tool, Microsoft has re-branded this handy tool a while ago to Windows Recovery Tool. The program can now be used for various devices running Windows. However, it is mainly used for devices running a preview version of the operating system to get back to the latest official version which is available for the dedicated device.
Microsoft is regularly updating this tool and while the company releases bug fixes to improve performance and stability from time to time, they also keep updating the list of supported devices. Originally the app was designed for Microsoft / Nokia branded phones, however, now where Microsoft tries to convince third-party OEM’s to manufacture smartphones with the windows operating system, the company is also adding support for them in the Windows Device recovery Tool.
Today the company has released another update, covering additional devices which enables them also for the Windows 10 Mobile Insider Preview. So now you can use the tool with the fairly popular NuAns Neo and Vaio Phone Biz, as well as with the less known Unistrong T536, and the Yezz Billy 4.7. Head over to the Microsoft Website in order to download the Windows Device Recovery Tool.
