Why why why why why why why.
Beginning on June 30th, Google will stop supporting its physical Google Wallet Cards. While I’m not quite sure how many of you actually use these cards, it is an immensely useful tool used in my everyday life. With Google Wallet, you can use the card just as you would use any physical debit or credit card, at almost any location. I personally use the card to limit my spending on coffee, something that I normally have a hard time doing on my own. Every month I fill up my card with the amount that I’m ok with spending, and the card takes care of the rest. Not only that, but you can send money to people just as simply as you can with any other service, just through your Google account. When you’re this entrenched into fanboyism, the more integration I can get, the better.
With that being said, the service is likely causing Google money, and as much as I want to be selfish and keep the service around, if it doesn’t make sense from a business perspective, I can understand why Google would kill it.
I’m just really sad.
