Boy, have we come a long way in wearable technology.
Last year, Fossil group introduced the Q Founder, a stylish watch with Android wear that was build to compete with such products as the 2nd gen Moto 360 and the Huawei Watch. The wearable was met with great appeal, as it came in a variety of styles and owned a more traditional look than many of the more flashy smartwatches released in 2015. Yesterday, fossil announced that their 2016 is going to be huge, as they will be announcing over 100 new products with wearables in mind. The list of brands they are partnering with is long, but they have announced Chaps, Michael Kors, Diesel, Kate Spade New York, and Armani just to name a few. With it’s recent acquisition of the smart fitness company Misfit, we can absolutely expect to see both fashionable wearables as well as sports wearables alike.
Concurrent with the advancement of Fossil Group’s owned technology and research and development capabilities, the company continues its strong partnerships with third-party technology partners, including Google and their Android Wear™ platform, to deliver on the company’s short- and long-term wearables strategy.
There should be a whole slew of new products out from the group this year, so if you’ve been waiting to pull the trigger on just the right one, 2016 might be the year for you.
