It’s been a long time coming, but this morning LG officially announced their new flagship, the LG G5.
This isn’t any old smartphone announcement though; this is an innovative treat for consumers. As we reported in the past, LG are keeping their removable battery while moving towards the industry standard of all-metal devices. What makes this phone unique, though, is the incredible modularity of the device. LG is leveraging the power of it’s hot-swappable battery bay as well as USB-C to allow for cool add-on’s such as an audio DAC, Camera Holder, and a new 200 degree camera that they are using to create video for their new headset. The move should allow for some cool official accessories as well as the possibility of some interesting third party ones. Though we already released the specs prior to the initial announcement, here’s a recap in case you missed it:

Assuming the Snapdragon 820 performs the way we’ve been hoping, this should be one hell of a device. It should be available in late April, so we’ll get a unit as soon as we can and let you know our thoughts.
We’ve collected a ton of photos from different sources below, so hopefully you can use them to get a sense of what the device is bringing to the table.
