Many leaks and rumors in the past few weeks appeared on the web about the Microsoft Lumia 650 suggestion the design and the hardware specifications of the phone, though there was no real proof for anything. Today Microsoft has finally unveiled the Microsoft Lumia 650 which makes it an official new phone from the company.
The Lumia 650 will be available for under $200 and comes with a fabulous design. Like earlier generations of the Lumia row it will come with a beautifully crafted aluminium frame combined with a poly carbonate back. Currently the phone is only available to pre-order in two different colors, black and white, though rumors suggested that the device will be available in gold as well. Maybe Microsoft will bring the gold version some day. Apart from that the phone comes with a 5″ HD screen which has a resolution of 720 x 1280 and 297 pixels per inch (ppi). The display does even have Gorilla Glass 3 which might make it more resistant against some drops. The camera is like expected already, not a Carl Zeiss Lens but has 8MP on the back and on the front you are getting a 5MP shooter. To ensure to have enough power with the phone there is a Snapdragon 212 under the hood working for you day and night at a clock rate of 1.3GHz. For storing all your loved songs and photos the phone comes with an internal storage of 16GB which is expandable with a MicroSD Card. Furthermore there is the possibility of using OneDrive for additional storage like your music library.
A while ago Microsoft had launched its first phones which have been shipped with Windows 10 Mobile, the Microsoft Lumia 950, Lumia 950 XL and Lumia 550. There has been some criticism on the design of these devices, especially the new flagship phones. Although Microsoft is partnering with the accessories manufacturer Mozo to bring some high and looks and feels to their flagship devices, the out-of-the-box design of the two phones is not that awesome.
With the Lumia 650, however, Microsoft has released a very beautiful new mid range phone. Below you can have a look at a video from Microsoft France aka Olivier Lagreou who is giving us a detailed look on the new phone.
