Microsoft has planned something big and the company has just started. In the UWP or ‘Universal Windows Platform’ there is a lot of potential which people are slowly getting convinced by and start to buy more Microsoft products and use more services of the company. The vision doesn’t stop there though, with HoloLens and upcoming new devices and services Microsoft is going to influence everyone’s future. Unfortunately convincing people by their great work is one thing, but in the end Microsoft will need more enthusiastic developers for their platform in order to make their services or operating systems more popular.
Especially on mobile devices this is a very important thing. Since the beginning of Windows Phone and now Windows 10 Mobile Microsoft is struggling with convincing developers, sometimes even big companies, to bring their services also to the Microsoft OS. Microsoft has not surrendered yet and that’s good because they are offering a great experience on their devices. Probably as important as enthusiastic developers for an operating system is and enthusiastic community and once again the community around Windows Mobile has shown that there are users of the OS and that they want all the apps Android and iOS users do have.
WishAppList is new service which has been created by a few Windows Phone fans and should convince developers to make their apps available also for Windows Phone. As a user you can visit WishAppList and vote for the apps which you are missing on Windows Mobile / Windows Phone the most. After voting you can directly tweet about the app you voted, share it on Facebook or write a tweet to the developer of the service.
Basically a good idea, but it is depending on how much votes apps are getting from the Windows community. So head over to WishAppList and vote for apps which you are missing on Microsoft’s platform. Drop me a comment below what you think about this fan based idea and stay tuned for more Microsoft related news in the future.
