A couple of months back Microsoft has announced a long-awaited feature for their next-gen console, the backward compatibility program. This allows owners of a Xbox One Console to play selected games on their new console which they had bought for their Xbox 360 console already. Previously the company had released a huge list with about 120 game titles and after expanding this list back in December, Microsoft has now expanded the list of backward compatible games again.
This time the company has added 10 very popular games which have been played a lot by previous Xbox 360 users. Therefor the company has added Counter-Strike: GO, The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings and a few other games, below you can have a look at the full list of new games. A list with the now approximately 130 games which originally have been released for the Xbox 360 console and can now be played on a Xbox One can be found here.

A few new nice titles which Microsoft has added here and that is not all. The company will keep updating this list throughout the year. The problem is that the games do need small modifications in order to work on a Xbox One Console if they have originally released for the previous console generation and therefore Microsoft can’t just release all games which have existed for Xbox 360 as well on their new console. Though the company did also announce some changes which will be coming to the way how they are releasing new game titles for the backward compatibility program. Here is what they have published on their official blog about that:
In addition to adding a few new titles to the backward compatibility list, we’re also going to start releasing titles as they become available rather than a set monthly launch date. What this means for you is that you won’t have to wait to find out the latest titles; we’ll release whatever is available, when they’re available, once each title has received the engineering and publisher stamp of approval.
Let me know what you think which games are still missing in the backward compatibility program or if you think that all the games you have been playing on the 360 console are all in the program now. Stay tuned for more Microsoft related news in the future.
