With Windows 10, a new age is starting in Microsoft’s software strategy. Not only that they are working on a universal operating system which can be used just everywhere, impressively shown with the Continuum Mode for Windows 10 Mobile, but also the UWP (Universal Windows Platform) which allows you to develop apps for Desktop PC’s, Tablets and Phones in one step. Microsoft Office is part of this UWP and has been developed and improved by Microsoft over the past few Months.
The Apps Word, Excel, Power Point, OneNote and Outlook Mail and Calendar are Office Apps which have been entirely created with the Universal Windows Apps Platform and can be used on all Windows 10 devices. Without an Office 365 subscription you are able to view documents with these apps and with an Office 365 subscription you can even edit all your documents with a Desktop like experience.
Microsoft is working hard on bringing the best Office experience to their smartphone operating system as well as to Android and iOS. The company is also proofing this with the updates it has published today for Word Excel, PowerPoint and Sway. Unfortunately Microsoft has not included a changelog with these updates, however we can assume that the company has been working on the apps to fix some, bugs, security and stability issues.
If you notice any new features which are now available in these apps, drop me a comment below and we will add it to the article. Keep in mind, that the Sway app is currently only available for Desktop and Tablet devices, a release for Windows 10 Mobile might happen soon.
Stay tuned for more Microsoft news in the future.
