With 2016 right around the corner and CES coming along with it, the hype has naturally started to build around Samsung’s new line of flagship devices. According to ITSKINS, who has already started selling cases for the new devices, Samsung is looking to simplify customer options by offering 3 distinct variants.
The first, simply dubbed the “Samsung Galaxy S7″ is said to feature a flat 5.1” screen with no option for curvature of any kind. Instead, Samsung will also offer the standalone “Galaxy S7 Edge”, which features a 5.5″ screen with curves around the edges, similar to the “Galaxy S6 Edge”. Lastly, a 6″ device will be offered for those looking for an upgrade from their already huge Nexus 6 or Note device, titled the “Galaxy S7 Plus”, and will offer either a traditional flat screen, or the curved screen similar to that featured in the “Galaxy S7 Edge”.
By offering this segmentation of devices, Samsung seems to be looking to expand the popularity of their high-end “Phablet” market into the mid-ranged “reasonably sized” market of today.
