Windows RT Update 3 Brings Start Menu to Desktop

Microsoft have rolled out Update 3 for the nearly obsolete Windows RT platform. This brings some new features, the biggest being the option to use the Start Menu in desktop mode at the expense of the usual “Modern UI” Start Screen, a change that will benefit those using a keyboard and mouse.

To get the update you may have to select an Optional Update from the Update and Recovery settings in “Change PC Settings” found in the left charms bar menu. The required update is update KB3033055.

You will need to enable the Start Menu by going into DeskTop view, long pressing/right clicking the Task Bar and hitting Properties, from here go to “Start” tab and check the box that says “Use the Start Menu instead of Start Screen” press Apply and bingo.

I will be bringing a hands on video of Update 3 for Windows RT soon, it will be on our YouTube channel, stand by for that!
