LG is trying its hang again at Windows Phone, plays it safe
We’re finally getting wind of the long-rumored LG Windows Phone that’s coming to Verizon. No official announcement has been made, but Windows Central got hold of an e-brochure that has all the photos and specifications of the device, which will be called Lancet.
The device features a ergonomic design wrapped around a 4.5″ display. We also get an 8MP camera with a gesture shot feature that should be idea for selfies, and tap to wake as well. Otherwise the device is fairly mid-range, seemingly on the lower end of that.
LG Lancet Specifications:
Windows Phone 8.1 Update 2
4.5″ WVGA (854×480)
4G LTE Connectivity
1.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 (MSM8916)
8MP Rear camera (1080p video), VGA Front Facing
8GB internal storage, expandable memory
LG features such as Knock On, Gesture Shot, and Soft Light
It’s good to see LG returning to Windows Phone, since I can’t remember the last time the company released one. It’s a fairly safe bet for both LG and Verizon, who both have had lukewarm responses to previous Windows Phone offerings in the past. Hopefully this will help spark new interest and greater commitment for both companies, but only time will tell. For now, let’s wait for the device to get a formal announcement.
